I had the chance to try out the newest Macdev today, and I must say that I'm impressed. Bottom line, it is the smoothest, most quiet paintball gun that I've ever fired, and I've been playing for over 23 years. It is light, efficient, and has a great feel. The fit and finish is supurb, and the ergonomics with the front reg really feel great without the macroline. When firing even long strings on full auto, it just plain doesn't move or jump at all in my hand. This thing is going to be a beast.

Here's a video of shooting it: Note that the sound of the paint hitting the target 50' away makes more noise than the gun firing, and this is 16 bps at 270 fps!

http://youtu.be/RmOZrdR5Vp8

I did some efficiency tests with it straight out of the box. I left all the shipping grease in it, and just aired it up and shot it. I can assume that the efficiency will get better as it breaks in, but this is not bad. My clone v2 got 1/2 these numbers when it was new, and last weekend I shot 14 pods and a full rotor on about 3100psi on my 114 tank during the last battle at AFW5.

This test for the GT had very tiny, old paint that rollled through my .681 barrel insert. I've noticed that efficiency gets better on a spool valve paintball marker if the paint has a good bore fit, so these numbers will be a little low, plus it needs to break in. These were fired as fast as I could load it and pull the trigger, and actually froze up the reg on my 68 by the time I was done! Of course it fired perfectly every time, and did not have any noticeable first shot drop off with the stock settings. I now have over a case of paint through it with no malfunctions of any kind.

45/4500 cold fill: 852 counted shots @ 290 fps until noticeable drop off

68/4500 cold fill: 1373 shots @ 270 fps

It will be a couple of weeks until I can give it a real workout on the field, but so far I'm more than impressed. More to follow when I've had a chance to use it against moving targets and with some good paint.

How does the game work?
Is there time to grab lunch?
Should we plan to take some time off of work ( friday & monday)?
What time will it end sunday?

Not trying to step on anyone's toes here but I have decided that I really don't like the chalk balls that were used at the Armed Forces War. The chalk mixed with the paint and made an abrasive tooth paste like substance that made it difficult to clean off my marker, and if I hadn't taken great care could have really damaged my anno on the marker. Now the problem that I really have is my nice new mask lens has all these small line scratches in it that I have never picked up before on a lens, and I am pretty sure it is from the chalk mixed with the paint and when cleaning on the field with no water i feel that caused these scratches.

I am asking the players that used these to reconsider the next time about using this type of ball. I and others have spent a lot of money on our gear and would like to keep it in the best condition possible and I am sure those that used it would like to keep your gear in great shape too. Although it looked cool at times, the damages that this could potentially have could cost a lot of people a lot of money. I am always for new creative ideas in this sport but I personally feel that this is not one of them. This may have worked well if we were all shooting them and there was no paint to mix with it, but unfortunately in a sport that is built around a paintball I don't see that happening at this time.

I would love to hear others feelings on this subject. Again not trying to make those who used them mad and I am not even mad at those using them, You tried something new and that it fine. I usually don't go on forums to vent or cause problems but after a mask lens that is going to have to be replaced and a gun that is one of a kind that I really don't want ruined, I have some strong feelings about it now.

Hey all, I know there are certain people who lurk here that also troll elsewhere for paintball stuff for sale. Brandon, of Allstar paintball in Hawaii, had his Tacdrone stolen with a rotor and I4 mask over the weekend from his store. I believe it is the one I sent him a couple of years ago, and serial number 23. If a tacdrone turns up from someone shipping from Hawaii or unwilling to give the serial number, it is most likely it. The serial number is under the grip on the left side on the bottom of the frame, and should read TD0023. There are not too many of these out there. Krazy8 and I have both played along side Brandon, and he is planning on attending supergame this year. It would be great if he had his tacdrone!

I have two tanks for sale, both of which were just re-hydroed this week, so they're good for another 5 years. I'm asking $120/each. Tank with 2 years left normally go for around $100.

68/4500 psi Crossfire tank with a Myth reg
45/4500 psi NitroDuck tank with a standard Ignition reg

The regs haven't even been tightened down yet, so I could probably swap these around for the first buyer.
